SAN FRANCISCO – Apr. 8, 2018 – Raphael House is proud to announce its 21st annual “One Home, Many Hearts” Gala to be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 5th at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco, California.
The event will be hosted by long-time Raphael House supporters, former KPIX weather woman Ms. Roberta Gonzales and CBS Foodie Chap Mr. Liam Mayclem, and will feature the presentation of the second annual Community Impact Award to Mr. John Hinman Esq., former board member and chair emeritus, and founding partner of Hinman & Carmichael LLP. San Francisco District Attorney George Gascon is scheduled to present a Certificate of Honor to Raphael House for its commitment to serving homeless families in the Bay Area. The event will also highlight the success of former Raphael House residents and will raise funds to benefit Raphael House, the first and largest family homeless shelter in San Francisco.
The “One Home, Many Hearts” Gala brings together more than 650 Raphael House donors, volunteers, and community leaders who have advocated for Raphael House since the organization’s founding in 1971. The event highlights over 45 years of Raphael House’s accomplishments – serving more than 22,000 of San Francisco’s most vulnerable homeless and at-risk families. Major corporate sponsors include Barneys New York, Dodge & Cox, PG&E, and Simpson Thacher. The official media sponsor for the event is the Nob Hill Gazette.
Over the last 20 years, Raphael House’s Annual Gala has raised over $4 million to enable Raphael House services, including residential shelter and comprehensive programs for academic tutoring, employment readiness, and mental health programs. Over 86% of Raphael House families go on to achieve long-term stable housing and financial independence. The evening will include a cocktail reception with live music by latin jazz band Barrio Manouche, an exciting silent and live auction, a seated 3-course dinner and award ceremony, and after-party and dancing with DJ Mancub. Appearances by local city officials and mayoral candidates are expected as well.
