At the start of the COVID crisis, Raphael House was at risk of cutting our crucial services that for 50 years have helped families experiencing homelessness get back on their feet. Thanks to the outpouring of contributions from you—our generous community—Raphael House has continued to provide care and stability to Bay Area families without interruption.
Raphael House and our dedicated team are essential in caring for some of the most vulnerable members of our community, but our donors have been truly essential in helping us overcome this giant hurdle presented in 2020.
With sincere gratitude, thank you to everyone who has stepped up to support Raphael House!
Whether you made a monetary donation to our Emergency Relief Fund, gave to our Giving Tuesday Now fundraiser in May, donated cleaning supplies or face masks, purchased backpacks for students in our programs, or volunteered virtually, every contribution in support of our mission makes an impact on ending family homelessness in the Bay Area.
Here are some of the ways we’ve helped Raphael House families during the COVID-19 crisis (March 16th – July 31st):
These are just a few of the accomplishments we’ve achieved! Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to see more updates.
In other great news, your increased donations and gifts from first-time donors allowed us to receive a $200,000 matching grant from a generous Raphael House donor! That means many of your generous gifts had double the impact.
As a community-funded organization, our fundraising efforts are urgent and ongoing. We need your continued support at our Many Homes, Many Hearts Online Gala on Saturday, September 12th—just one month away! Our goal is to raise $450,000 and every dollar counts towards this critical fundraiser. We have a very special evening in store and hope you’ll make a donation to our 23rd Annual Gala fundraiser.
Because COVID-19 continues to affect our communities, our Emergency Relief Fundraiser will remain open so you can continue to make a gift to ensure that our services are able to meet the needs of so many families that have been affected by this crisis.
On behalf of the Raphael House Board of Directors, our team, and most importantly the families in our Programs: Thank You! We can only overcome these incredible challenges with your support.
With gratitude,
Marc Slater
Executive Director
