We appreciate our community for helping us continue our mission to help families break the cycle of homelessness. We hope you take pride in supporting our programs that empower families like Monique’s.

Monique and her three daughters arrived in the Bay Area after she made the brave decision to leave a domestic violence situation. It was important for Monique to provide her daughters a routine after facing so much uncertainty.

After the family was welcomed into Raphael House’s Residential Shelter Program, Monique was able to maintain a routine that helped her stay connected with her daughters and gave her the time to heal. During their 4-month stay, the family worked with our counselors to find financial and housing stability.

Through our Bridge Program, Monique’s daughters continued to receive supportive services, including after-school tutoring, summer camp scholarships, and Back-to-School supplies. One year, a donor through our Adopt-A-Family Program gifted Monique tickets to the San Francisco Ballet. The experience sparked a new love of dance for all three daughters.

It was important to Monique to support her daughters’ passion and through our Children’s Services, Monique was able to send her daughters to dance classes and summer camps. As a result, one daughter has even danced for three competitive dance companies and received a performing arts school acceptance!

“My daughter has learned that with hard work and dedication she can achieve all of her dreams” – Monique

Despite coming to the Bay Area facing many obstacles, Monique has stayed motivated and continues to support her daughters’ passion. We are so proud of Monique and her family!
