The summer months at Raphael House are notably busy—from summer camps for our students to prepping for Back-to-School season, there’s always something around the corner!
We’re particularly proud of several families in our Bridge Program, who are using this season to get ahead on their studies! Parents in our Career Development Services are studying for their CPA exams and exploring different options for esthetician school. And the students are hard at work, as well! A rising high school junior is preparing to embark on their journey to becoming a sonographer, and our Children’s Services team is helping them take all the right classes needed for future requirements. Way to go!
This month, we want to celebrate our new Children’s Services Coordinators—Mariela and Adamma! Starting this July, the two of them have been leading nightly activities for our families to spend some quality time together in the evenings. Every day, they plan one activity (building felt plushies, hosting collage nights, and other crafty fun) and follow it up with a read-aloud storytime.
It’s been so exciting to watch our families bond, and to see familiar faces regularly taking advantage of these opportunities for joy and wellness! We’re excited to continue building out our family services programming. Take a look at the beautiful calendar of activities Mariela and Adamma created!
We’re 70% of the way to our fundraising goal for our annual Back-to-School fundraiser!
Help us provide 150 students with backpacks and school supplies this August—and support our Children’s Services programming all year long! From storytime to individualized tutoring, Raphael House is committed to helping our families prepare for academic success.
