Santa Claus came to town! Thanks to the kindness of our community, our Adopt-a-Family campaign provided all Raphael House children with holiday gifts.
Every year, we present these holiday gifts to our Residential Shelter clients in our children’s garden during a special visit from Santa and his elves. Attached here is a photo of them celebrating all the kids who made the “nice” list!
We wish all of you a very happy holidays, and are always grateful for your continued generosity.
This month, we welcomed not one, not two, but THREE volunteer groups to get Raphael House ready for the holidays!
From decorating our halls to wrapping gifts for our children, this month’s volunteers have really made this season something special for our families. Thank you to:
- Maverick Capital Foundation
- Calvary Presbyterian Church of San Francisco
- San Francisco Federal Reserve
We sat down with longtime Raphael House supporter and valued Board Member Laine Gomez to see why she gives to Raphael House. Laine shared her experiences overcoming homelessness, and how she is proud to help others do the same.
When we asked Laine about why our community should support Raphael House, she said: “Even in my darkest moments, my survival wasn’t mine alone. There were people who helped me along the way. I am proud to be a part of Raphael House as a helping hand to our families now.”
