How Our Youngest Supporters Raised $3,000 for Homeless Families Through Reading

We’re so happy to announce that our first-ever Read-for-Need fundraiser was a huge success! In this inaugural fundraiser, 19 dedicated Bay Area student readers participated, surpassing our goal and raising over $3,000 for Raphael House families and our programs!

Plus, all Read-for-Need donations from new, first time donors will be matched dollar for dollar by a generous match grant!

After two weeks of reading, participants recruited friends and family to sponsor their reading efforts by making a donation for every page they read. The fundraiser provided Raphael House supporters with a fun, family-friendly activity during shelter-in-place, all while providing essential funds for Raphael House programs.

We send a sincere THANK YOU to all of the dedicated students who participated, and to the generous donors who sponsored their efforts and our programs!

Thanks to the support from our Read-for-Need participants and their sponsors, we have been able to offer remote services like academic tutoring, evening art, and wellness activities for children. We could not continue these services without the support of our community!

If you, your children, grand kids, nieces or nephews, or students are interested in participating in our next Read-A-Thon, you can sign up here to receive more information when we launch our next fundraiser!
