2018
- Raphael House welcomed Marc Slater as our new Executive Director. Marc previously served as Director of Development for Raphael House and brings 15 years of nonprofit experience with him.
- Raphael House sees a record number of volunteers in 2018, with more than 2,000 volunteers (2,052 total) dedicating their time and service to support our Residential Shelter and families.
2019
- Raphael House provides services to 202 families (or 719 unduplicated individuals) through our Residential Shelter and Bridge Programs.
- The 22nd Annual Many Homes, Many Hearts Gala raises a record $825,000 for Raphael House’s programs thanks to over 500 generous supporters at The Four Seasons Hotel.
2020
- The COVID-19 crisis prompts San Francisco to enact a Shelter-In-Place order, limiting indoor gatherings. Raphael House puts safety protocols in places and limits its intake of families per city and government recommendations. Many in-person, group programs are paused.
- Despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, Raphael House continues many of its services in virtual format without interruption, and introduces Financial Assistance for Family Stability Services. The purpose of these services is to provide financial assistance to families facing challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, Raphael House provides families with financial aid for rent, utility bills, food and clothing, educational/vocational training costs, childcare, and more.
- Raphael House hosts its first ever virtual gala due to the COVID-19 crisis, and raises over $431,000 for families and our programs.
2021
- Raphael House turns 50! To celebrate 50 years of supporting more than 20,000 parents and children experiencing homelessness, Raphael House encourages our community to make a donation and share their favorite memories.
- Raphael House continues to operate under COVID-19 safety restrictions.
- Though Raphael House has undergone many changes over the years, the organization continues to offer shelter and services to families without interruption, including daily meals, family-centered case management, career development and wellness support, comprehensive K-12 tutoring and extracurricular activities, plus our post-shelter Bridge Program services.
- Raphael House serves 179 families (603 individuals) in Fiscal Year 2020.
