Giving to Raphael House is a sound philanthropic investment: On average, 85% of families exiting the Residential Shelter Program achieve stable housing and financial independence and more than 90% of families engaged in the Bridge Program (formerly known as AfterCare) maintain their long-term housing and financial stability. Our highly structured continuum of care features counseling services, financial education, parental coaching, child tutoring and educational advocacy—in addition to shelter, food and clothing, and emotional support. We work to ensure our families have access to the services they need to take ownership of their lives and accountability for achieving stability and self-sufficiency beyond their temporary stay at Raphael House.
Unique among many social service agencies, Raphael House is 100% privately funded and relies on its extensive network of donors to meet its entire annual operating budget of $3.9 million. This private funding model gives us greater control over our programs so that parents and children are treated as individuals rather than units of service. Raphael House’s donor portfolio includes individuals, businesses and corporations, foundations, and church and civic groups. Nearly 30% have been giving for twenty or more years.
