Corporate Volunteer Program The Corporate Volunteer Program is an integral part of helping San Francisco's homeless families. Projects like cooking and serving an evening meal at the shelter, adopting a family over the holidays, and organizing an in-office drive not only have a significant impact on the families living in Raphael House, but they are enjoyable ways to get to know the people with whom you work on a new level. Work Parties Not very glamorous, but a hands-on experience that is gratifying in the end. We employ groups in deep-cleaning, painting and organizing activities.
A drive could take many forms: classic children's books and those featuring children of different ethnicities, personal care products, disposable diapers, clothing (can be used but clean) that is suitable for interviews, especially in larger sizes. We need turkeys at Thanksgiving and new toys and gift certificates are always needed. We celebrate every child and adult's birthday, and would be happy to receive new presents. Groups of five volunteers work with the Raphael House kitchen staff
to cook and serve dinner for the families staying at the shelter.
Hours are from 3:00 -- 6:45 pm. The Raphael House kitchen is
large, clean and industrial-sized. Your group may choose your own
menu or you can use one prepared by our chef. In either case, the
recipes and ingredients will be waiting for you on the kitchen counter.
No cooking experience necessary. Halfway through the afternoon there
is a tour of Raphael House. These dinners are eagerly awaited by
the staff and families!
