Agency Overview

For the past 10 years the Raphael HouseThrift Store has become an essential resource for our shelter residents who often arrive with only the clothes they are wearing. Families visit the stores with a case worker to select everything from donated clothing, shoes, and books to household items. Even after departure from the shelter, The Thrift Store continues to be a source for families and members of the Raphael House community. The Raphael House Thrift Store is open to the public five days a week. (Tues-Sat 10 AM to 5 PM). All of the proceeds from the Thrift store go to support theRaphael House programs.

The Raphael House Thrift Store serves the community of downtown San Francisco by, providing quality goods at bargain prices within a unique environment of excellent customer service and a family atmosphere.

Donation Guidelines (Summary)

What we can use: New or nearly new clothing, accessories and shoes, housewares, linens, brand-new toys and best-selling books. WE also appreciate high-quality collectibles, fine or costume jewelry, china, glassware and art.

What we cannot use: Used baby and children's clothing and equipment, any well-worn clothing, sports and exercise equipment, electronics and appliances, cameras, magazines and encyclopedias.

Drop-offs: As our staff and storage space are limited, please call ahead to at 415.474.4621, ext. 800. Drop-offs between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm are always appreciated.
