Claudia Castillo Ross founded Cross Marketing in 2005 to pursue the cross between marketing and philanthropy. Cross Marketing serves its clients through marketing, advertising, special events and philanthropic connections. In addition, Claudia is also a part-time marketing instructor at FIDM, Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. She is an active community volunteer and has served as chair for several large-scale fundraising organizations. Claudia and her husband live in the Bay Area with their two children.

 

 

Ebrahim Abbasi

Ebrahim Abbasi is Executive Vice President at Force10 Networks leading the company’s corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, operational excellence initiatives and corporate development activities. Ebrahim came to Force10 from Ericsson Packet Networks where he served as senior vice president of operations. At Ericsson, Ebrahim was part of the executive team that led the formation of Ericsson’s Packet Networks Division, establishing San Jose, CA as the primary base of Ericsson’s IP operations. Ebrahim joined Ericsson from its acquisition of Redback Networks, where he was a member of the executive team responsible for the turn-around transformation of Redback and it’s acquisition by Ericsson for $2.1B. Ebrahim is the veteran of networking industry with broad technical and operational expertise and a track record for scaling up or turning-around technology companies while accelerating their overall operational performance.

 

 

Cheryl Baxter

Cheryl has been active in many non-profits in San Francisco over the last ten years, including the San Francisco Ballet, the San Francisco Opera, Hamlin School and St. Luke's Preschool.  In addition to chairing many large fundraisers, she has served in leadership roles on the various boards with which she has been involved.  Cheryl lives in San Francisco with her husband, Ralph, and their two daughters.

 

 

 

Rick Dade

Rick Dade is founder and president of R3 Builders, a Bay Area construction company whose clients include Trader Joe’s, Sonic Drive-In, Bin 38 Wine Bar, DOSA, Patxi’s Pizza and Pisco Latin Lounge. He founded R3 Builders in 2001 in Benicia, CA, and has since built it into a thriving business.  Today, Rick and his family live in San Francisco, where he is passionate about supporting local business and merchants. Rick has contributed to many local charitable organizations, including City of Dreams, Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco, Raphael House, and Glide Memorial.

 

 

Chuck Doyle

Chuck is President of Business Capital in San Francisco, a leading commercial financial services firm providing comprehensive, customized and strategic business solutions for clients across the United States. Business Capital offers a vast spectrum of services, including debt restructuring; asset based lending, asset protection, capital raising and business turnaround offerings. He is actively involved in the San Francisco community through serving on development and fundraising committees for various charities. He, his wife Jennifer and their four children split time between their homes in Mill Valley and Southport, Connecticut.

 

 

Fr John Dresko

Father John, a national leader and former Director of Development for the Orthodox Church in America, has extensive experience in fundraising and recruitment of volunteers. In addition, he has years of executive administrative experience both in and outside the Church, including the United States Air Force. In addition to his theological education, he is a graduate of the Center on Philanthropy, Indiana University, and owns teaching credentials. He has spoken on stewardship and fundraising to gatherings as large as 2,000 people throughout North America. Father John is currently Rector of St. Paul the Apostle Orthodox Church in Las Vegas, the largest parish in the Diocese of the West, and is in San Francisco regularly as a senior administrator and fundraiser for the Church. Father John and his wife Liz reside in Henderson, Nevada, and have four adult children, with a first grandson on the way.

 

Will Freeman

Bill is an entrepreneur and in addition to managing a real estate development fund in the Pacific Northwest, he also owns Patxi’s Chicago Pizza Restaurants in Palo Alto and San Francisco. Beside his dedication to Raphael House, Bill donates time and support to Children of Shelters where his wife, Kathryn Freeman, is a member of the board of directors. Bill, Kathryn and their young child split their time between Portland, San Francisco and Palm Springs.

 

 

Tony Glaves

Tony has held executive positions with the Time Incorporated Magazine Company over  a 14 years period and served as Publisher of Sunset Magazine in 1996-1997. For the past 10 years, he has served in executive operating and board positions with several Silicon Valley start-ups as well as starting his own company in 2003.

 

 

 

John Hinman

John is the founding partner of Hinman & Carmichael LLP, the nation’s leading alcoholic beverage regulatory law firm. He has been practicing law in this area for over 30 years, is a published author and is a national expert on beverage law. John, is a former Chairman of the Raphael House Board of Directors and currently also serves on the board of the Specialty Wine Retailers Association and the American Wine Alliance for Research and Education. John, who has two grown children and a grandchild, lives with his wife, Charmaine in San Rafael.

John provides operational and financial advice to professional service organizations. His current clients include firms and other groups in the legal, consulting, money management, and scientific research communities. John is an adjunct professor in the MBA program at Golden Gate University and has served on the boards of a number of Bay Area non-profits. He and his wife, Tim, live in Millbrae and have two grown children and one grandchild.

Barry is the Vice President of Raphael House and also the administrator of the Diocese of the West. A retired Air Force Major, Barry came to Raphael House as a live-in volunteer while finishing his Masters Degree at St. Vladimir’s Seminary.

 

 

 

Jessica Moment

Jessica is the owner of Philanthropist, a high-end women’s clothing and accessories boutique in San Francisco that donates 100% of its profits to Bay Area charities.  Since its inception in September 2008, Philanthropist has donated over $200,000 to organizations dedicated to fighting poverty.  Prior to launching Philanthropist, Jessica graduated from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law and is a member of the California Bar Association.  In addition to her commitment to Raphael House, Jessica is a strong supporter of the Humane Society of the United States, where she is a member of the National Council.  Jessica served as a Co-Chair for Raphael House’s One Home, Many Hearts Galas in 2009 and 2010.  Jessica, her husband Jason, and son Henry live in San Francisco.

 

 

Melissa Richardson

Melissa is a marketing consultant who focuses on e-commerce and online marketing. She has developed e-commerce strategies for a variety of companies from Fortune 500 companies to vertical retailers to emerging social media players. She has been active with Raphael House for over a decade as well as with her daughter’s schools. She lives in San Francisco with her husband, Mark, and their two daughters. They are also active in the Lake Tahoe community where they support various environmental organizations such as League to Save Lake Tahoe and the Truckee Donner Land Trust as well as local youth organizations such as the First Tee and the YMCA, among others. Her husband, Mark is a Guardsmen who works to support the at-risk-youth in San Francisco.

Kate Smith

Kate Smith is a wife, mother, medical professional, athlete and philanthropist. After graduating from Indiana University, Kate joined the senior critical-care nursing team at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, where she specialized in all disease processes of preschool aged children.  Following her 9-year tenure at RCH, Kate joined Meridian Plastic Surgery Center as the senior nursing staff member, where she also published articles with Dr. Stephen Perkins.  Since moving to San Francisco from Indiana in 2002, Kate has been active with numerous charitable organizations such as Girl Ventures, the Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Indiana University Wellhouse Society and the University of Notre Dame's President's Circle.  She is also a board member of Saint Francis Foundation and Chair of the Associates. Kate chaired Raphael House's annual fundraising gala three years running and now sits on the Raphael House Board of Directors.

 

 

Mary Wolfe

Mary is a high-tech marketing consultant who works with a variety of Bay Area startups. Her focus is on defining new products, opening new markets and creating effective marketing programs. Mary serves on the regional board of NCOUR for the University of Virginia, is active in her children’s school and is an avid supporter of many local organizations. Mary, her husband and their two children live in San Francisco.

Francis J. Rigney, M.D.

Dr. Rigney is the son of our founder, Ella Rigney. He is now the retired Chief of Staff of what is presently the California Pacific Presbyterian Hospital and member of the Advisory Council for San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association. Dr. Rigney was the first chairman of the Raphael House Board of Directors and has been an invaluable resource, sharing his knowledge of organizational principles and love of Raphael House for over thirty years.

Janet is a management consultant with expertise in data privacy strategy and compliance, developing programs that are customer-focused and emphasize executive level governance. She previously served as the Chief Privacy Officer (CPO) for the Charles Schwab Corporation and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and the advisory board of the Ponemon Institute’s Responsible Information Management Council. Janet and her husband have raised two sons and are both active in their Sausalito community.

Hal has been a volunteer at Raphael House for more than a decade. He can be seen weekly in our AfterSchool Program cheerfully encouraging children with their homework. In addition to tutoring, Hal is a past chair of our Board of Directors where he led Raphael House to new heights. Hal has also served as a Director for several companies, including Autodesk, Serena Software Inc. and IDI Associates. Hal and his wife live in San Francisco.

Peter Hall is a Managing Director of Equinox Search, LLC in San Francisco. Equinox is a nationwide retained executive search firm specializing in real estate and financial services.  His prior experience includes his role as Senior Partner at Heidrick & Struggles. Peter's industry experience includes his role as Executive Vice President, Real Estate, for Bank of America, and President of PMI Mortgage Insurance Company.  Peter received an M.B.A. from Stanford University and a B.A. from Georgetown University. Peter and his wife Alice reside in San Francisco.

Carole manages a team responsible for developing and maintaining private client relationships for Bank of the West in San Francisco and the Bay Area. She is active in the San Francisco community and has served multiple Bay Area non-profit including St. Francis Hospital Foundation, the San Francisco Ballet Foundation, the San Francisco Ballet Auxiliary, National Education Leadership Council for Save the Children, American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter Development Committee, and Northern California Presbyterian Homes and Services. Carole was educated in England and lives in San Francisco.

 

Frank Rosenbach

Frank first came to know Raphael House when he came to Brother Juniper’s Restaurant thirty years ago. While ordering a cup of coffee, he was approached by then Executive Director, Ella Rigney who promptly encourraged Frank to volunteer. And volunteer he did. For the next thirty years Frank was Santa Claus, passing out gifts to children and parents on Christmas morning. Although Frank is now retired, he was a Vice President of Morgan Guaranty in San Francisco and New York. Frank splits his time between San Francisco and Reno.
